Christina G. Yates' Obituary
Christina Yates, 88, died peacefully on February 14, 2015.
Chris was born in New York City, the daughter of the late Christos and Cleo Galatis, and came to this area at a young age. She was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Norfolk.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Daniel Yates, Holly Ashberry and husband Randy and Patricia Ferebee and husband Skip. She was also a beloved "YaYa" to five grandchildren, Justin Phelps, Christie Black, Lindsay Phelps, Zoe and Alexis Ferebee, Robbie Pack, Charyl Compton, Danielle Rodriquez, Tina Nocco; and a host of great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Cathy.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday February 19, 2015 in B.W. Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, where the family will receive friends one hour following the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice or to the Portsmouth Humane Society, 4022 Seaboard Ct., Portsmouth, VA 23701.
