PORTSMOUTH- Cheryl Ann Davis Lofton, 57, went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving husband, Roger, and their canine companions, Archie, Maddy, and Whiskey.

Cheryl was born and raised in Rockville, MD, and was very active in sports, playing basketball and softball at the collegiate level.  She was a nurse for 24 years, and employed by Bon Secours Health Systems for 18 of those years.  Cheryl enjoyed gardening, running, and spending time at home around the pool with friends and family.  She was known for being a hard worker and was always willing to help others.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Hildegarde Davis.  In addition to her husband, those left to cherish her memory include her brothers, Craig and Mark Davis (wife Joan); father-in-law, John (Jack) Lofton; brother-in-law, John (wife Tana); sister-in-law, Cindy (husband Russell); six nieces, Brittany Bafitis, Kristen Toohey, Amanda Becraft, Brittany Bailey, Meagan Matthews, and Kendall Buonviri; and one nephew, Ryan Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Ln., Suffolk. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 522 High St., Portsmouth.
