Obituary

Charlsie D. Wilder passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013.

Mrs. Wilder was born in New York City, the daughter of the late Charles William Dey and Johnsie H. Dey. She had formerly worked as a registered nurse, and retired as a cashier from the Coast Guard Exchange after 15 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, James Wilder, U.S.C.G. (ret); two children, Christina M. Wilder and James C. Wilder; two grandchildren, Christopher J. Wilder and Courtney M. Wilder; three sisters, Johnsie Stapleton, Kim Gallman, Jo Ann Dey; a brother, Charles William Dey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She loved many people, and many people loved her as well.

A visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 24 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Olde Towne Portsmouth. Burial will follow in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Restoration Fund, St. Paul's Catholic Church, 3501 Cedar Lane, Portsmouth, Va. 23703.
