Obituary

Charles Arthur Lambdin, Jr., 57, of Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away at home on July 31, 2014. Born in Lynchburg, Virginia, on December 3, 1956, he was the son of the late Charles Arthur and Anna Stuart Lambdin, Sr.

Charlie fully participated in life with compassion, love, laughter and curiosity leaving behind a wide and varied community of friends. Those who were privileged to know him would certainly say, if you ever met Charlie Lambdin you'd be hard pressed to forget him and, without a doubt, he was the best appliance repairman in the business.

He is survived by his children, Charles (Tripp) Arthur Lambdin, III and Anna Stuart Lambdin; his sister, Elizabeth L. Thorneloe (Alan Jeglinski); his "vice-children" Ashley Saunders Martin (Ryan); Dustin and Emily Saunders; nieces Kate and Martha Thorneloe and "vice-grandson", the Little General Jackson Lee Martin. Charlie will be deeply missed by his partner and caregiver, Linnea Saunders and devoted dog, Sophia, as well as many other extended family and friends.

We will remember him by celebrating his well-lived life by gathering at 205 Riverside Drive, Portsmouth, Virginia on Saturday, August 9, 2014 between 4:00 – 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project (woundedwarriorproject.org) or the American Cancer Society. B.W. Foster Funeral Home is handling arrangements; internment to be held at a later date.
