CHESAPEAKE- Charles James Brady, Jr., 88, of Chesapeake, passed away peacefully November 13, 2018.  A Korean War veteran, Charles served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Kearsarge. He retired from civil service and became a successful entrepreneur. The latest of the many businesses he started, B.E. Courier Services, is now owned and run by his son, Michael Brady.

Charles is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris Andrews Brady; sons Charles James Brady, III and wife Ellen, and Michael Bruce Brady; grandsons Charles James Brady, IV and wife Allison (Beau, Grace, Chloe, and Olivier), Aaron Bass Brady and wife Sarah (Laura and Katelyn), and Matthew Barksdale Brady and wife Heather (Luke and Emily); cousin Laura Ward; and many other beloved extended family members.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 15, at First Baptist Church of Norfolk, 312 Kempsville Rd., Norfolk. The family will receive friends an hour prior.  A private burial service will take place in Williamston, NC. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
