CHESAPEAKE—Charles Robert "Bob" Derr, 84, passed away September 25, 2023. He was born in Newport News, VA to the late Charles and Edna Bland Derr.

Bob was the owner and operator of Occasions Flowers by Bob in Hampton. He served as the sacristan at St. Paul Catholic Church, taking care to ensure that the church was always pristine for liturgies. He was well-loved and a regular fixture at the church for many years.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his special friend William A. Ficenec.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 522 High St., Portsmouth. Burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News.
