PORTSMOUTH – Charles Albert Bartlett, 84, passed away April 2, 2021.

Mr. Bartlett, the son of Albert C. Bartlett and Mildred B. Bartlett, was born in Portsmouth and spent most of his life in the tidewater area.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth B. Fitzwater, and his brothers, Richard B. Bartlett and Robert L. Bartlett.

Charles Bartlett was a man who celebrated many passions. His love of nature, travel, family, and friends were constant sources of joy.

Charles is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Betty J. Bartlett; son, Albert C. Bartlett and wife Maria; son-in-law, Michael Fitzwater and wife Shelley; beloved grandchildren, Grady, Ella, Graham, Anna, Andrew, Mary, Charlie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and children who called him "Granddad."

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8 at Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth, by Rev.
