In Loving Memory of Carmen E. Gardner

June 19, 1929 – June 7, 2026

Carmen E. Gardner, 96, of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Carmen was a faithful member of Church of St. Therese and a devoted Catholic. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always ready with a listening ear and a kind word.

Carmen is survived by her brother, Roderick Carter; her children, Ronald (Kathy), Robert Jr., Ricky (Rhonda), Ryne (Tammy), and Roderick (Judy); along with 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. "Bobby" Gardner; son, Randall; and daughter, Donna.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Church of St. Therese on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00. A graveside service will follow immediately at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, with a reception at Church of St. Therese when we return.
