Bill Terry
Miller, Sr.
Oct 28, 1945 — Mar 5, 2019
Chesapeake
CHESAPEAKE- Bill Terry Miller, Sr., 73, AKA "Dartnose" AKA "Miller Boy," passed away in his sleep on March 5, 2019. Terry was born October 28, 1945 to the late Frank and Elizabeth Miller.
He is survived by his children, Bill Terry Miller, Jr., Natalie Kay Ramirez, and Cody Frank Miller; two brothers, Sid Miller (Butchie) and Buster Miller (Carolyn); grandson Jesse Armel and three other grandchildren; great-granddaughter Serenity Armel; grand-dog Soxy Miller; nieces and nephews Kevin Miller (Christine), Jan Lowe, Hunter, Devan, Miranda, Sam, Lucy, Blake, and Dakota; great-nieces and nephews Brandon and Anne Miller; ex-wife and caregiver Dody Johnson (Reese); and extended family, Joey Belcher, Shawn Belcher (Dianne), Chuck (Jessica), Oliver, Tommy, and Barbara Belcher.
Terry served in the United States Air Force; after his service, he spent the rest of his life working in the automotive parts industry, including his own business, Terry's Auto Parts in Portsmouth. He finally retired from Chesapeake Public Schools as the parts manager of the bus garage.
Terry made many friends along his path in life, including Skip, Carol, Tim, Rudy, Fran, David, Lynn, and special friends from Sweden, Bengt and Eva.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lab Rescue of Greater Richmond, P. O. Box 1574, Midlothian, VA, 23113, or labrescue-richmond.com.
Terry's greatest passion, besides family, was his love of old hot rods, drag racing, collecting old Hot Rod magazines and models. His knowledge of old Chevrolets is a museum of the many things he collected over the years. When he passed away, he was in the process of building his dream car. He didn't get to ride in his girl, a 1955 Chevy 210, but he did hear her run.
Terry was not a suit and tie kind of guy, and he would want everyone who attends his memorial to be comfortable. So in light of his personality and passion, please drive your hot rod and wear your favorite hot rod t-shirt and jeans to his memorial, if you would like. We all know he would.
