Betty Lou Sykes Babb age 88, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025 in Colonial Heights, VA.
Betty was born in Portsmouth and lived there for most of her life.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Kenneth "Choo-Choo" Babb and by her parents James C. and Dorothy Sykes.
She is survived by her son, Brian Keith Babb and his wife, Margie, of South Mills, NC and her daughter, Bonnie Babb Alley and her husband Gerry, of Chester, VA.  She was lovingly known as "MeeMaw" to her two grandchildren, Christina Curtis White and her husband Sam, and Dylan Curtis and by her three great-grandchildren, Ivy, Ozzy, and Hazel White.  Betty also leaves behind her sister, Nancy Sykes of Easthampton, MA, as well as several very special cousins and friends who she greatly cherished.
Betty worked at The Bank of Virginia for 28 years, retiring as Vice President in 1994.
A graveside service will be held at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens on August 8 at 2:00pm. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
