PORTSMOUTH - Ann Mary Cabanillas, 71, died September 08, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, May 18, 1943 the daughter of Roland P. and Mary (McGrady) Kane.

Ann graduated from Arch Bishop Prendergast High School, Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing, and Philadelphia School of Secretarial Skills. She owned and operated "Greenwood Cottages, Home for Incurable Dolls". Her main occupation was being a Navy wife and a Marine Corp Mom. Ann was a member of the Cub Scouts Pack #1292, National Cap Council, and 251 Tidewater Council, Girls Scout Troops #647 and #520.

She is survived by her sons, Peter Cabanillas of Ellsworth, ME, and Christopher R. Cabanillas of Suffolk, VA; daughter, Elizabeth A. Cabanillas of Suffolk, VA; granddaughter, Rebeca-Lyn C. Cabanillas of Chicago, IL; and grandson, Andrew J. Cabanillas of Ellsworth. She was predeceased by her husband, John D. Cabanillas.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later time and date in Holy Angels Catholic Church, 34 Afton Parkway, Portsmouth, VA by the Rev. Jet Garcia. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014, in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
