PORTSMOUTH—Agnes E. McFadden, 87, passed away August 23, 2023. She was born in Lexington, Virginia to the late William and Lucy Clark Engleman. She was a 1954 graduate of Cradock High School.

Agnes was the widow of Thomas P. McFadden. She is survived by their three children: William McFadden and wife Mary of Portsmouth, Mary Susan Tanner and husband David of Elizabeth City, NC, and Peggy and husband Dr. Robert Briggs of Tappahannock, VA; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, at First Presbyterian Church, 515 Court St., Portsmouth. Interment next to her husband will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Suffolk.
